Greetings!
Lot's of activity at the farm these days and the warm weather is here. We are busy setting up our experimental garden, filling our hoop houses with warm season crops and harvesting strawberries. We are getting honey bees this Saturday nigh
t, and are excited to give the bees another try.
With the early warm weather, we have many challenges to stay ahead of the busy season's tasks: setting up drip irrigation, mulching blackberries and blueberries, taking off Haygrove hoop house sides, weeding, planting, seeding, checking new ginger (from Hawaii) pre-sprouting progress -- the cycle goes on.
We have been thankful to have long lines at the all organic Morningside Farmers' Market every Saturday (7:30 am - 11:30 am). The cut flowers are big sellers! Celia does all the bouquets, and she is quite an expert.
The beets have been beautiful this season already, and I now have a new found love for sauteed beet greens. So you may want to try them before they go in the compost.
Thanks for checking our website. We will be updating farm news, videos, and photographs from time to time, so please check back!
