Snow, Ice and Welcome Lauren!

photo-5.jpg

We would like to welcome Lauren Cox to the Woodland Gardens farm family. We feel very honored to have Lauren, with all her talents, and we look forward to her first year here. Lauren is previously of Le Tre Lune Farms, which she operated with her husband Luca, whom she met in Italy while studying for her master's degree at the Slow Food University. She will be wearing a lot of different hats at the farm, so we hope you have the pleasure of meeting her soon. Lauren is a Georgia native, so she fits in just fine! Actually, I think she is the only Georgia native on the farm, but she can hold her own with our jokes. Seriously, we feel so happy to have her. Welcome, Lauren!

Snow and ice have welcomed her arrival too, so we have been busy holding everything together around here:

Meanwhile, in the heated greenhouses, things keep right on going, thanks to Anna, Jenny and the crew. We keep busy in the winter months, planting and harvesting, seeding trays for transplants, thinning, cold protecting crops, and nursing along a nice looking house of early tomatoes. Thank you Anna and Jenny for some truly amazing work in the greenhouses turning all the labeled seed packets in to plants:
